Happy Valentine's Day

Everyone looks so cute in their Valentine's Day outfits. The kids brought cards, sweets, & treats today, and I must say the pink cupcakes that Avery brought, and the brownie cupcakes that Cailyn brought are scrumptious! Yes, it is before 10am and I've tried them both! Hey, it's Valentine's Day.

Cailyn got to open up a a new tea set from her mom and dad this morning, and along with Nolan, the three of us played tea party first thing. It was pretty cute seeing Nolan "sip" his tea from the miniature tea cups.

When Avery arrived with new princess dolls and her Princess Castle, the tea party was done for a little while. The girls are currently in a fort playing with Rapunzel, Belle & Cinderella. We also started on a Valentine's craft this morning and had a fun mess to clean up!

Where, Oh Where Is Spring???

Snows days, sick days, and being stuck in the house. Not much fun. We are ready for some warm weather and healthy kids!

Today it's just Evan and Nolan and since they are both napping, I thought it would be a perfect time to do some blogging. Sorry I can't post any pictures though ):

What have we been up to?

What better time to play board games, than when you are stuck inside?! Cailyn, Avery and I have been playing Chutes & Ladders and The Ladybug Game. I am impressed with the girls' ability to count and recognize various commands on the cards. I'm trying to emphasize the fact that it is okay not to win every game, and to be certain to congratulate your opponent. We're getting there (:

What else is totally fun to do while cooped up? COLORING! Just the other day, I told Avery how proud I am of her for her superior coloring skills, and she responded, "I'm proud of you too Dan-elle." Then Cailyn said, "You're the best Danielle." They sure do know how to make a person feel good!!! Of course, this was after I was told my belly was big because I have a baby in it. After I explained that I do not have a baby in my belly, I was told that it was still big. At least kids are honest (:

Speaking of funny things kids say: Yesterday, Cailyn was rubbing Nolan's head (which is a big step for her because she "doesn't like boy babies") and said, "Danielle, look what I am doing." She was proud of herself for touching Nolan. When he turned around to look at her, she quickly moved away and told me, "I don't like his face. I like his arms the best." I love it.

On another note, Avery has been participating in a dance class, while Cailyn is enjoying gymnastics with Mom. They have been teaching me various skills that they have learned. It's too cute! Cailyn reminds me to tuck my chin when doing sommersaults and Avery taught me some footwork for ballet.

Mmm, and what have those rascally boys been up to? Hitting each other and laughing about it, dancing to the music on Nolan's new Boombox, and just having fun! It really is a treat to watch them interact. I can't wait until they start talking to one another. Oh the things they'll say!

And last but not least, our sweet little lady, Miss Elisabeth. Well, what can I say, she's just being sweet. She has a precious personality now and has been cooing and smiling and laughing. I can already see that she is going to be keeping up with those boys. They don't know what they have coming (:

Happy Halloween

Our friend Lindsay gave Nolan these moccasins, and I couldn't resist the cuteness of them paired with only his diaper.

Nolan must be embarrassed.

The Bradley Boys

October 1 was C.J. and Chance's last day at Ritter's Critters. I of course had to take a gazillion pictures before the day ended, so here is a small (yes, small) sampling!

When the kids were much younger, we took some shots of them in the window, so I had to recreate the scene. The earlier pictures were a bit funnier than this one. Feel free to go back and find them!

It's cute to think back on their first day at my house in February 2008. Avery did NOT like these two little boys invading her territory. Her fondness for them soon developed, however, and before you knew it, C.J. was her living idol! Move ahead a few years, and Chance became her new little buddy, but I know she'll always have a place in her heart for the first Bradley Boy!

When I first began watching them, C.J. was 19 months and Chance, 7 months. C.J. was always full of energy (which never went away even to this day :), and went around saying "ball, ball" and barking like his dog. Sooo funny and cute. He was always a happy guy with such a big smile. He quickly learned how to use the big boy potty and had no problems getting rid of his pacifier. He was ready to grow up! He did have an unforgettable poo incident in the pack in play one afternoon, but we'll just leave it at that!

As C.J. grows and matures, he shows compassion and caring toward his friends. He truly has a sweet heart. He also loves cleanliness. I think this is why he and Avery got along so well (: C.J. always uses a napkin when eating and rarely uses his fingers. He LOVES to sweep and mop and even started telling the other children when it was time to clean up. Thanks C.J.!!! His other love, besides being Mr. Clean, is cars. He could spend all day playing with trucks, trains, "Herbies", or anything with wheels. He once told me something along the lines of, "if it has wheels, I know all about it!"

C.J. is such a delight. He is growing into such a sweet, lovable person who simply makes you happy.

Chance has always been our little snuggler, from day one! So lovable. When he was a baby, he would either hang out on the floor being content, or just sit in my lap and relax. As he grew a bit older, he decided he needed to add a little bit of orneriness to his persona. It just made the day more exciting and kept Nanny Danny on her toes! Chance also developed a love for sports of all sorts. What a natural athlete. He would get very serious when playing baseball, soccer, football, hockey, tennis, etc... with his "friends" in the back yard. He has a great imagination (: However, he wasn't afraid to be a princess or ballerina when the girls where doing their thing! I think he only joined in because he knew it bugged them so much!!

Chance is a funny kid. He probably is the sweetest Critter with the most tender heart, yet the one hanging out in time-out the most. Oh, Chancey!

Sometimes, the weirdest things make your day. I opened Evan's pudding cup, and this is what I saw; a face!
