Twins

Not only do they wear the same clothes, but I have also been noticing some similar behaviors. They sleep in the same position; butt up, they both put their pacifiers in their mouths the same when they are being silly...
Two peas in a pod!
Nolan loves his Auntie Catherine. Brandon was holding him while he was very fussy, so Catherine took him and all was better!

Nolan also loves his Auntie Gabrielle!

What a ham!

During a trip to Batesville, I saw this truck sitting next to a car lot and had to get a picture of it to show C.J. I told him it was 'Mater from the movie Cars.

Our birdhouses. We recently put up a Finch feeder and we use these for their water.

These were our Father's Day gifts. We made dough (the same kind we used for the Mother's Day necklaces), smooshed our hands in, baked them and painted!

It's Time!!!!!!!!!

Just received word that Kristy will be induced tomorrow, so we will be meeting Ms. Elisabeth soon!!! YAAAYYY!!!

More Updates...

So, as I was saying, these kids have been keeping busy this summer and having lots of fun. We have recently started working on our letters and learning how to spell our names. Avery was eating her breakfast one morning when she started singing something. I eventually realized she was trying to spell her name. Betsy made it into a song to help her remember how to spell it. So we all decided it would be fun to learn the spelling of our names. It helps that they all know the alphabet. Well, I should say they know how to sing the alphabet! They have also been tracing their letters and are beginning to identify a few of them as well.

All of them enjoy playing school, whether they are the teachers or decide to be the students and let me be the teacher. They love doing flashcards and are currently learning landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower (which Cailyn knew immediately due to Kristy being a French teacher), Mount Rushmore (or Mount
ain Rushmore as they say), Ayers Rock, the Parthenon, Colosseum, and the White House to name a few. Their favorite flashcards are the Dinosaurs. C.J. is becoming a whiz at those! He used to tell me, "cars, and anything with wheels, I know all about!" Now he is going to have to include Dinosaurs in the mix. We are also completing work books (the ones from the dollar bin at Target are awesome). This is where we get our flashcards too. It's the best.

Speaking of Target, or the "Red Store" as they all call it, I overheard the girls saying that they love Target and the boys saying that they don't! If I recall correctly, I think the boys were saying something negative about it, and Avery immediately defended her Red Store! It's already starting (: Target has a way with us ladies! Chance asked me recently where I had bought something, and I told him Woot.com, (another fun shopping experience), and he said, "no you didn't, you got it at Target." They think everything I get is from Target. Probably because it is!

I love watching the children grow and mature. Sometimes I think they are wise beyond their years. I love watching them interact with each other and using their imaginations. Sometimes they even teach me a thing or two. For instance, I was carrying a load of dirty dishes up the stairs to the kitchen and ended up dropping a few of them. C.J. told me, "D-yell, you shouldn't try to carry too much at one time and you won't spill things." I have taken his advice, and make sure I only take what I can handle. Chance has taught me to take time to snuggle and slow down, and to not let the little things cause too much frustration. Avery teaches me that it's okay to be silly and not take myself too seriously. Cailyn inspires me to get a little crazy and get moving, but at the same time, to take time for myself. Evan and Nolan just make my heart melt. They remind me that every child is such blessing...and make me want a dozen more! Most of all they teach me to love unconditionally.

I am so proud of them for so many reasons.

Updates

I am planning on adding all of our new pictures soon, but until then, I thought it would be nice to share with you all, what these incredible kids have been up to.

We've had lots of birthdays this summer. C.J. turned 4, Chance and Cailyn turned 3 and Evan is one! We will be having a new birthday to celebrate once Baby Skiles decides to join the world. She is due this month and I know her mama is anxious for her to come out and play! It will be nice to add another girl to the Critter mix.

We've also made Penny and Josh official Critters. They have been our summer playmates and everyone has had a good time. Penny is 5, so she has been a terrific little helper, and is certainly quick to inform me if any of the kids are up to no good. Josh is a 3 year old overflowing with energy. I don't know where it all comes from, but he just doesn't seem to run out. Penny will be off to Kindergarten soon, so we might have to steal Josh for some play dates!

**I began this post exactly a week ago, and so far still no baby Skiles. Her official due date was today, so we're patiently waiting! COME OUT LITTLE GIRL....
